British Columbia based professional photographer Rolf Kopfle comes with an extensive range of experience. A Swiss born Canadian, Rolf started his career in 1975 as a journalist in his native country. For almost twenty years Rolf worked as news writer, editor and photojournalist with the leading swiss daily newspapers, magazines and international photo agencies.

Rolf,s pastime to  observe and photograph  wild creatures and the natural world became apparent  at an early age. Later during his career as a photojournalist, encouraged by his professional colleagues, he started publishing some of his images in  feature reports and photo reportages  in newspapers and magazines. Soon his sought after images became a regular part of many publications nationwide.
Represented by some of Europe's foremost stock agencies, Rolf’s travels became  more extensive
and took him to many exiting places like Australia,Asia,Africa and North America.

Internationally recognized for his outstanding collection of animal portraits, Rolf’s images are regularly published in numerous calendars, books, magazines and periodicals worldwide. His pictures are also continually seen in high-end advertising and brochures. Images from his collection have been published in the United Nations Endangered Species Report and by Organizations like World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

Since 1996 Rolf lives with his wife and daughter near Smithers, British Columbia, where he owns and manages rk-press photo, stockphoto library specializing in nature and animal portraits.

Presently Rolf is working on several new calendar projects Occasionally he works on assignment for different special interest magazines
